Janet Mendoza

I am currently placed at N5G, the 5th floor of the North Patient Tower in Gainesville Georgia. I plan to pursue a career as a Pediatric Speech Pathologist. I took an interest in speech ever since my first placement at the Rehabilitation Institute in August. I plan to attend the University of Georgia to pursue a degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders, then get certified to practice my study at a local clinic.

Work Based Learning has helped me a lot. WBL gave me the opportunity to see so many different things I would normally not see on a regular basis. WBL has introduced me to so many amazing people who are passionate about their careers and given me the opportunity to get real life experience.

I am currently a dual enrollment student at the University of North Georgia. I am in marching band and serve as the clarinet section leader. I serve as Vice-President in National Honor Society and I am also involved in HoPe, Beta Club and Student Council. I enjoy every activity I am involved in and all the members involved.

I chose healthcare because I’ve always had a need to help others. Healthcare is a direct way to help people give them a good start in life or help them continue a good and happy life.
